Darche Baker-Jordan, the artist and lead sales associate of Major Wavez Lab, demonstrated the process of designing shoes yourself with custom fabrics, laces, and other items they provide, or purchasing shoes that have already been customized with them.
The neat thing about the experience is that you don’t need to have any familiarity with design. It is literally setup where anyone of any age can customize sneakers as they see fit.
When designing the shoes yourself, tools and materials like paint brushes, markers, scissors, acetone, and other supplies are provided at the booth.
Baker-Jordan said the most popular customized shoes from fans were the Patrick Mahomes customized shoes with one of his favorite drinks Grand Marnier logo on the sneaker.
The creativity was definitely there amongst the designs and machinations, especially with a heat gun that can be utilized to change colors of a multitude of customized fabrics they had.
Major Waves Lab was started during the pandemic about six years ago with a flagship store here in Las Vegas, and several other stores in Los Angeles and San Jose. They offer classes where you can learn to customize your sneakers.
